How To Password-Protect Your Videos Using Vimeo

This article took life on the marketing with sergio blog due to a suggestion on twitter from a very good friend of mine.

Someone who doesn’t needs any type of introduction, the one and only Justin Ledvina!

So if you have been involved in Internet Marketing for a while, you should know by now that enticing people to get gifts that will take their online business one step further, is a great way to start building your list.

There’s a ton of different ways to properly bribe people to make them join your list.

And here are just a few examples:

  • free reports (the most common)
  • podcasts
  • videos
  • interviews
  • free access to training sites
  • and many more!

I’m going to show you how I’m giving away an interview I conducted a few days ago with Mr. Patrick Griffin (an Internet Marketer & Journalist from the UK).

The interview is PACKED with content and it runs for 41 minutes. (if you want to watch it you need to sign up to the blog updates, you can unsubscribe later and we still can remain friends!)

Anyway, the interview is about How To Create Your First Video (for all the people scared of recording themselves on camera) and in order to get it, I am enticing people to sign up to receive the marketing with sergio updates.

Because honestly, who on this earth would want to miss my amazing posts? ;-)

So I had this interview sitting on my hard drive and I knew that Vimeo provided this solution, I just didn’t know if it was available with a free account and for your luck and myself, you CAN do it with a FREE account, yeah!

Let’s jump to video and let me show you how this is done.

(Use password boxing so you can watch the video above)

So there you have it, how to protect your video content with a free Vimeo account and entice your readers to sign up to your e-mail list.

There are of course, many more ways you could use video protected content, so your creativity is your only limit my friend.

Hope you enjoyed this article, vlog and random hobby of mine (boxing) as it sure was fun to write it for you!

Take care, have a great weekend and don’t forget to leave some of your feedback as it IS important to me!

Hasta la vista baby,

    Hey Sergio,
I can see there’s no stopping you now!
Good tip to have up my sleeve when I start to do my videos.

I am almost at a loss for words.
Your posts just get better looking each time and the content is superb as ever.
And for anyone who does not already know and who cares about these things…Cotto beat Margarito and said afterwards “He means nothing to me.”
I guess those two are not pals then.

      Hey Patrick,

They are definitely NOT pals haha

I was expecting Cotto to beat Margarito but I thought he was going to knock him out.

It was a shame that they had to stop the fight in order to look after Margarito’s health because he couldn’t see with his right eye (he got that same eye severely bruised when he fought Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and was almost in risk of actually losing the eye at the time).

But it was a decent fight anyway, I enjoyed it! ;-)

Thank you for your great comments and support, have a great day my friend!

I have used Vimeo in the past, but never thought to password protect them to build a mailing list – what a smart idea!

I think Vimeo gave me problems in the past with videos, so haven’t been back. I’ll have to check it out again, though.

Thank you for the info, Sergio!

Yeah I don’t know where I got that from but I guess it could work -it has- ;-)

So far I haven’t had any problems with them and I’m starting to see that a few marketers I know are using it even in their product launches.

If I do decide to invest, I’ll make sure to make a post about it here.

Thanks for your comment and hope you have a great day Linda! ;-)
