Frank Kern’s “Convert” New Book

I just received this in the mail today and I couldn’t be any more excited.

However, I’m not going to talk about the book (I haven’t read it yet).

What I want to do instead, is talk a little bit about how Frank Kern is advertising and marketing this.

We all know that people love to pay to digest content but unfortunately almost nobody takes action on the new acquired knowledge.

That’s pretty much like a given fact these days.

E-mail Marketing

March 4th.

I received two emails telling me about the “Convert” book with a difference of only two minutes.

One was from Frank Kern himself.

The second one was from Eben Pagan.

March 5th.

The next day I receive another e-mail from Eben Pagan promoting “Convert” but he was also promoting Marie Forleo’s “B-School”.

I find that interesting because I’ve been told numerous times to only have ONE call to action per e-mail but hey, he’s Eben Pagan after all!

March 6th.

Frank sent another promotion for “Convert” and almost at midnight sent a second e-mail promoting “Webinar Jam”.

I guess he was targeting people in Europe because that’s the time when they are waking up.

March 7th.

At exactly 12:00 pm Frank sends another promotion for “Webinar Jam”.

I believe this was the one meant for us in America (the continent).

March 11th.

Then it was all silent for a few days until Jeff Walker chimed in promoting “Convert” on this day.

Frank sent another e-mail a few hours later doing another push for “Convert”.

April 1st.

I never heard about “Convert” again until I decided to bite the bullet and buy it myself, which I did on this day (April 1st).

And of course, with the proper tracking I probably won’t receive another e-mail for “Convert”, at least not one coming from Frank Kern.


I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t do a lot of web research after this because I wasn’t THAT interested.

I know Frank uses a lot of paid promotions and he has already said that Facebook Ads has the best ROI but I guess it all depends what you are promoting and who is your audience.

With that said, I found a very basic press release (on of course) that gave just the right information away.

It’s basically five paragraphs, a very short video from Tony Robbins recommending Frank Kern (social proof), an image of the book and a call to action at the end.

In case you’re already bored out of your mind reading this article, I decided to shoot this unboxing video just for you.

It’s probably the most boring unboxing video ever because let’s face it, I’m unboxing a book after all.

I believe the real reason for all of this, is that I wanted an excuse for doing a video and this book arriving in the mail was perfect, don’t you think? ;-)


Well, there you have it.

Two ways to drive really targeted traffic:

I would also like to throw in Facebook Ads but to be honest I can’t remember if I did see offers in facebook or not.

There was a ton of word of mouth about it though.

Also, I haven’t seen many internet marketers using press releases lately for their products (at least not the ones in my circles) and I almost never even care to read a press release myself but I guess you can still drive some serious traffic normally from non marketing people by using these.

Again, it depends on what the product or service is and who your target audience is.

So I gues I’ll start reading this book and see if this simple little formula that sold $50 million worth of products and services online for Frank Kern can do the same for me.

    Hey Sergio cool info mate. It’s a different promo style to blasting for a launch isn’t it.

    Frank probably has a strategy for this but it does seem like his circle of friends are helping out to spread the word. After all he is the best direct response marketer in the world! Either that or he does give a shit because he knows he’s gonna smash it however he promotes his book :-)

      I haven’t finished the book yet because like keeps getting in the way but from what I have read, the book is freaking awesome so far.

      PS. I’ve never tried to make jalapeños omelette before, I’m definitely going to try that after seeing your picture on Facebook lol

    Hi Sergio,

    My copy arrived a while ago, and I’ve got to page 27 where I decided to stop and take action to describe how I would like to introduced on stage as a blog post. The trouble is that I need to finish the current blog post that has been sitting at 80% complete for the last week.

    Overall the convert book is written for people who actually own and sell information products, so it’s convinced me even more that I actually need to have a traffic exchange information product to sell so that I can start creating a proper marketing funnel and be able to start charging more for what I know.

      Hey Andrew, so you got the book too? I haven’t made it to that page yet but I’m going to finish the book today.

      It’s actually very short and even on the press release they say you should be able to read it from cover to cover in just a few hours.

      “Charging more for what I know” I REALLY like how that sounds man and if I’m not mistaken, I think you just published that article you were talking about today so well done on taking action man!

    I never saw any emails but did see prominent ads that I clicked on FB. News feed ads to be precise. Didn’t buy though.

    Hi Sergio, I enjoyed your fun video of the grand opening of Frank Kern’s Convert book. I did look at the sales page – which said the book was 75 pages- but don’t think I’ll buy at this stage. I’ll be interested to see what you say about the book when you’ve finished reading. Alayna

    Hey Sergio,

    Love you’re quirky sense of humour; you’re very entertaining to watch;even when unboxing a book!

    Can’t relate to this level of selling online yet…will have to make that elusive first dollar before I can absorb a book like this. It will be a long time before I create my own product as I’m just starting out.

    You’re just a natural in front of the camera; I’m envious! Fabulous videos, they’re the best in IM!

      This book is not meant for really advanced marketers, although it may be perceived like that because it comes from Frank Kern who has been an authority in direct response marketing for years.

      I’m sure you’ll be fine without it anyway, you still have a ton of new things to learn and I wish you the best on your IM journey!

      PS. To create an information product, you don’t need to be an absolute expert. If you know a bit more than somebody else then you can definitely teach that.

      I’m pretty sure I could ask any of my local friends if they know how to install WordPress in a server and chances are 95% of them won’t even know what I’m talking about.

    Nice video again Sergio. Aneeta is right you have something on the camera. In fact I had a go today (unplanned though) and ended up pausing the video and capturing the screen instead.

    Next time perhaps I will have a plan of where I am going. Maybe then I will get better result but it was just a test.

    Frank Kern is really funny. I remember seeing him on Money Masters with Tony Robbins – He talks about selling techniques and having a “White Dog Sale”. Really funny it was.

    Actually on the same video TR gave Frank a new guitar as a gift.

    Il have to go to a TR seminar, I’m in need of a new drum kit. All the best. Stephen.

      Hey Stephen, I had a hard time doing my own videos the first time, the only way to overcome that is to actually do more of them.

      Frank Kern is really funny and magnetic as well, I just love that dude since I have learned so much from him.

      Tony Robbins is a big, big influence of mine as well, I wouldn’t think about it twice to attend one of his seminars.

    Nicely put and thanks for the encouragement which of course I intend to follow up on. I have a few product development projects going at present and with studying I’m really busy but after I have completed my current workload I will concentrate on recording videos for a while as I need to make videos for a drumming project. This will include script writing and such so I’m looking forward to that. It will also give me the grounding to make more free flow and natural videos like yourself which is the aim.

    I can remember when I first started seeing and hearing about Frank’s (at that time) new book. And just like you, I got a ton of emails from I guess some of his big name co-promoters (aka) JV partners etc.

    And I remember thinking then, I wonder how many total JV partners are promoting this book and what the total number of opt in subscribers is that will be getting the exact same message.

    Just today I just ordered a brand new book from Barnes & Nobles, written by Russell Brunson.

    I got an email from another marketer that had a really cool high def video about Russell’s book.

    And in the video Russell wanted to send you the book, and only charge you the shipping of $7.95.

    But he wanted you to fill out this order form and provide your phone number and his company would already have your credit card information on file too.

    Which only leads to me to believe that at some point you’re going to get a call from one of his sales reps offering some type of high end Coaching/Mentoring program.

    And or some type of high course.

    So I opted instead to just invest in the book for now!

    Funny how all of the big time marketers kinda all do the same things, one way or another!LOL!

      Hey Mark, I think I have seen the book you are refering to from Russell Brunson but I haven’t read it yet.

      Yeah, they do seem to be copying their own marketing schemes all the time, i have seen this exact “get it for free, pay for shipping only” marketing ploy a number of times now.

      I’m not interested in their coaching offers but I’m certainly all in for their books though.

      The thing to learn from this, is how can we implement marketing funnels like these?

      I don’t have a team of people ready to answer the phone and much less, trained to close down a high ticket student but I also can’t see why I wouldn’t do it in the near future if I had the resources and I also had the high ticket offer.

      The ideal outcome of this would be to implement some of these strategies ourselves and fine tune them according to our audience and our offerings.
